Served in the Marine Corps? When its time to renew your vehicle license plate, take your 00-214 to the Alabama Tag Office & tell them you want a Marine License Plate! Tell the world you are Marine, Once a Marine Always a Marine. Do this & the MCL receives approximately $21.

This money is used to assist currently serving Marines, Marines who served in the past & their immediate families within the state of Alabama.

Marines of the Marine Corps League;

The Marine Corps League has agreed with the American Military University (AMU) for AMU to award two regular Marine Corps League members a full scholarship (four years) to receive a Bachelor Degree or a Master's Degree in any degree offered by AMU.  You must have an accredited Bachelor's Degree in applying for the Master's Degree.  AMU is the full sponsor of this program.

Only current, regular Marine Corps League members who are interested in applying for one of these degree programs can apply.  Application must be submitted no later than 15 July 2017.

This is a great opportunity to further your education.  These scholarships cover full tuition as well as the digital books (library) for attending.  Some degrees that require lab equipment, the awardees would be responsible for purchases of that lab equipment.

Please read the attached application and "fact sheet" on AMU for further details.  AMU is an on-line University.  This is a full four year scholarship for a Bachelor Degree or a full two year scholarship for a Masters Degree.  Their classes start at your convenience.  As soon as you are awarded the scholarship, you should be prepared to start the classes soon afterwards.

Scholarship Questionnaire

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,

As many of you know, the DoD has identified more than 130,000 Veterans whose Disability Severance Pay (DSP) was taxed that may be eligible for a tax refund attributable to their DSP.

On July 9, the DoD began individually notifying the identified Veterans by letter through the US Postal Service. That effort is expected to continue through July 20.

The identified Veterans will have one year from the date of the DoD notification letter to file for their refund, or three years since filing their tax return that reported their DSP, whichever is later.

I have attached for your use a fact sheet that provided more details, and I would appreciate your sharing this information with those veterans among your membership or who may be affected.

An estimated 1.2 million retirees are in danger of losing their dental coverage on January 1, 2019 if they don't take action in the next six days. About 1.8 million enrollees in the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program are required to sign up instead for the Federal Employee Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) by December 10, 2018 if they wish to maintain dental insurance. As of Tuesday, only 600,000 people had completed open season enrollment, according to information provided by the Defense Health Agency. It's clear that hundreds of thousands of people across the globe are not getting the message. The change has been publicly announced for months.

FRDVIP is currently extensively used for federal civil service employees.
